The snowy morning couldn’t keep students and staff from donning their big striped hats and “Thing one” and “Thing two” shirts. Students and adults gathered in the library and celebrated the doctor and the joys of reading. Guest readers read their favorite Dr. Seuss books to students.

“We believe in the importance of showcasing people outside of their normal lives reading,” said Kristin Driver, principal, EXES, and Julie Murray, assistant principal, EXES. “It shows kids reading isn’t just a school thing. It’s not something you do because your teacher tells you to. It’s a life skill and it’s something to treasure.”

Nearly 600 total students, staff and guests came together to share a book and a love of reading.
